Welcome
Welcome to our new Kenyon families, and welcome-back to our returning families!
We are Ellen Elmore, Richard Ford, and Lyn Geboy, the volunteer coordinators of the Kenyon Swim/Dive Parents Group (KSDPG).
KSDPG is a volunteer group of Kenyon swim/dive families - we are not officially associated with Kenyon College.
This goal of this email is to provide you - the family members - with a basic orientation to KSDPG and the 2023-24 swim/dive season. You will find summaries of key information, along with links to our website and other resources, below.
Our website is kenyonswimdiveparentsgroup.org
What is KSDPG?
The purpose of the Kenyon Swim/Dive Parents Group is to:
support our student-athletes,
help families navigate the collegiate academic-athletic experience, and
serve as a resource to the Kenyon swim/dive coaching staff.
Our group is open to all families of Kenyon Swim/Dive athletes (and how you define ‘family’ is up to you).
KSDPG is a volunteer-run group. We are volunteers; we coordinate activities as volunteers; and we handle finances as volunteers. As the season progresses, you will see many opportunities for you to volunteer, and we hope you do.
For contact information, please click here.
Dues
KSDPG collects dues to fund purchases of spirit gear and snacks for athletes, cheer gear for families, and pre-pay some social events. Please note, as the season progresses, there may be additional requests for donations to motivate and feed athletes, and socialize with other families.
KSDPG dues for 2023-24 are $100 per athlete. Dues can be paid in the following ways:
Venmo (KenyonSDPF)
Zelle (kenyonsdpf@gmail.com)
Cash or check (made out to Kenyon Swim & Dive Parents Group). For cash or check please first email Ellen Elmore at kenyonsdpf@gmail.com and submit to her in person.
There are also some inevitable costs associated with major year-end meets. Since not all athletes participate in these meets, and not all families attend, the families that do attend should anticipate some ‘pay-as-you-go’ expenses. We strive to keep expenses reasonable by arranging for discounted hotel blocks (where possible), social events in reasonably priced venues, and discounts from vendors and suppliers as available.
Special Events
There are a handful of annual events that you may want to plan for in advance. Here’s a sampling of such events (click the heading for more information).

Seniors
Senior athletes are recognized through a range of activities throughout the season. If your athlete is a Senior, you probably know all about this. However, please do plan to attend the brief meeting for Senior families after the main meeting on Oct. 14.
Apparel
We will be coordinating team apparel that families can purchase. Apparel will be sold via an online team store. We will send out specific emails when the online store is open.
Facebook
We have a Facebook group (“Kenyon Swim and Dive Parents”). You will have to request membership and answer a few questions. Once you are a member, you are welcome (and encouraged!) to post photos, stories, etc.
Parting words
This is a lot of information. The website is there as a resource, and please don’t hesitate to contact us by email (ksdpg43022@gmail.com).1 We want to hear from you. While we are just volunteers, we are committed to helping Kenyon Swim/Dive families make the most of these precious swim/dive seasons.
Go Kenyon!
